Joe Acker announced as speaker at PAIC 2018

PA past vice-president, Joe Acker, has been announced as an invited speaker at PAIC 2018.

Joe is a paramedic and Director of Clinical and Professional Practice for the British Columbia Ambulance Service in Canada and holds an Adjunct Professor appointment with the University of British Columbia and Adjunct Senior Lecturer appointment at Charles Sturt University.

Joe has been a paramedic for 28 years with clinical, executive and academic experience in Canada, Australia, the Middle East, Asia and the United Kingdom. He worked as a critical care flight paramedic in Alberta, an intensive care paramedic in New South Wales, and is currently licensed in British Columbia where he continues to provide patient care in addition to his leadership responsibilities.

Having a passion for the international professionalisation of paramedicine, Joe has held board level positions with the Paramedic Chiefs of Canada, International Paramedic, and Paramedics Australasia. Joe is a change-agent and a roaring advocate for advancing paramedic practice while supporting paramedic systems to achieve professional status and self-regulation.
