Paramedics Australasia (PA) National Policy Advisor Ray Bange met with members of the Workforce Development and Training Directorate of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) Joint Health Command, as part of the regular program of policy and information liaison between PA and the ADF.

The ADF employs one of the largest groups of qualified medics in Australia and the mobility of the workforce sees their activities spanning many jurisdictions, both nationally and internationally.

PA enjoys good relationships with the ADF and the New Zealand Defence Force, and the Paramedicine Role Descriptions published by PA make specific reference to the vocational area of military practice. PA Chapters also undertake joint Continuing Professional Development activities with our military colleagues as the occasion arises.

Discussion took place across a number of areas including changes underway in training and professional development of the medic workforce and the progress towards national registration of paramedics.
