National policy advisor Ray Bange attended the Annual Meeting of the WA Chapter of Paramedics Australasia in Perth on Thursday 22nd September. The meeting was well attended with nearly forty members present from all categories of membership and industry settings. This strong level of support is indicative of the growing interest that members have in their professional body and the practice of the profession.

Ray spoke about the future directions of the paramedic profession and the implications of independent registration for paramedics in concert with a national health workforce strategy – such as was being envisaged by Health Workforce Australia. A lively discussion period ensued, after which the new Chapter committee was elected from a well contested group of nominees.
