SPAIC2016 went off with a bang at Australian Catholic University North Sydney on the 30 September and 1 October. With hugely positive feedback coming back from the 200+ attendees, numerous speakers and the first ever SPAIC mascot – Kevin!
Highlights on Day 1 of the conference included four hands-on, challenging workshops covering topics from airway management, pre-hospital tactical medicine, working with patients affected by disabilities and out-of-hospital obstetric emergencies. The first day also saw the Student Ferno Simulation Competition taken out by the team from SPARTACUS – Lisa McLeod, Anna Rutherford and Jeremy Tait.
Speakers on Day 2 ranged from all disciplines and relevant experience including topics such as neurological patients, becoming a successful leader, assessment of chest pain, surviving the first shift, the medically supervised injecting centre in Kings Cross and many more!
Catch up with a full run down of the conference in the next issue of Response magazine!
