St John Ambulance Northern Territory is seeking two (2) Intensive Care Paramedics – Critical Response Unit (ICP-CRU)
These are permanent full-time positions based in Alice Springs.
Emergency road ambulance and patient transport services are delivered across the Northern Territory by St John Ambulance Australia (NT) Inc. (SJANT) in collaboration with the Northern Territory Government.
Following a successful trial, SJANT has secured ongoing funding to implement an Intensive Care Paramedic Critical Response Unit (ICP CRU) in Alice Springs.This resource has been developed to ensure Territorians receive the highest quality clinical care.
The ICP CRU is a single response model implemented to provide rapid and specialist clinical assessment to high acuity cases. The CRU is staffed by senior ICP staff who provide clinical leadership and make sound clinical decisions in varied and complex environments to provide lifesaving treatment and stabilisation.
The Northern Territory has a lot to offer. It’s a place steeped in culture, of unequalled natural beauty and vast untouched areas of remoteness. Alice Springs is widely considered to be the spiritual heart of Australia, with rivers and ranges millions of years old and an ancient Aboriginal culture rich in art and story.
As a member of the ICP CRU you will be required to perform advanced lifesaving procedures with precision, and provide a consistent critical care response to patients in life threatening situations. As part of your ongoing development it is expected that you will undertake aeromedical and retrieval training.
